Why is it worth visiting Venice at the end of October, even though the tourist season is long over? There could be two reasons: the Venetian Biennale or Venice Fashion Week. The latter is attracting more and more interest year by year and is considered one of the most eagerly visited fashion weeks in Europe.

Venice is a unique and absolutely unique city. It is full of romantic corners, designer stores, delicious restaurants and museums, worth visiting from the other end of Europe. This is the cradle of culture, hermetic because of its location, but also so magical that you always return with a great touch of nostalgia. You can return to Venice at least once a year, in October, because that's when the fashion week takes place here.

Venice Fashion Week: a week of fashion on the water

Venice Fashion Week took place for the ninth time this year, which may be a bit of a surprise for those who have not heard about this event before. The lack of publicity is due to very strong competition, obviously in the form of Milan Fashion Week, which takes place at the end of September, as well as the Rome fashion week, which enjoys considerable popularity, largely due to the city itself in which they are organized. Venice, although charming and easily accessible, must fight for its position among the most popular Italian fashion cities every year. However, Venice Fashion Week is an initiative that fully deserves the attention and participation of the cream of European fashion society.

This event puts a very strong emphasis on responsible fashion, which respects ecology and the environment. To a large extent, this fashion week focuses on local designers who maintain old traditions and handicrafts. Venice applauds young talents, also those artisanal ones, but does not shy away from very modern and fresh design. Among the designers presenting their collections here, we can find both those who maintain the Italian style, so willingly copied all over the world, as well as those who reach for more experimental solutions.

Who should you watch during Venice Fashion Week?

The catwalk is full of traditional Venetian silk, on which the city built its wealth, as well as beautiful textures and accessories that can compete with richly decorated Venetian masks. There are also projects like Banco Lotton's.10 - simple, practical and universal dresses that steal hearts with their girlish cut and simple, yet sophisticated patterning. There are also modern cuts and light deconstructions, such as on the catwalk (or rather on the street) of the Matin Design brand in the A2 by matin collection.

Many collections were particularly distinguished, including the designs of the Remuè Venice brand. This is a brand that knows how to capture femininity so that it captivates from the first moment. Transparency, lace, delicate and subtle cuts and airy materials - this is the recipe for Italian design at its best. These silhouettes stick in the memory and make everyone return to this fashion week with great curiosity and high expectations.

Despite logistical and transport difficulties, Venice blooms more and more with this type of event. This year's Venice Fashion Week was also preceded by one of the largest floods in the city's history, which should further sensitize the fashion industry to issues related to ecology and responsible production.
