“You always have to be ready to start from scratch and work your way up”

- Victoria Beckham

Small Wealthy Artist

Victoria Adams was born in Essex on April 17, 1974. Her father was the founder and owner of an electronics wholesale business, which allowed him to provide his family with a peaceful and prosperous life. When 6-year-old Victoria saw the musical Fame on TV for the first time, she convinced her parents that her vocation was dance. As a teenager from a wealthy family, Victoria was not very popular at her school. Her peers did not like the rich girl from a good home, who was daily chauffeured to school by her father's Rolls Royce. In 1991, Victoria began training under the specialists of Laine Theatre Arts in modeling and dance.

After a period of happy childhood, at the age of 20, she moved to London to try her luck in the big world of show business. The young aspiring dancer/model had no idea that her life would be completely transformed, thanks to her response to a newspaper ad that read: "Looking for a young, energetic and hardworking girl for a girls band". And thus, in 1993, the legend of a lifetime – Spice Girls was born.

Posh Spice

Spice Girls, Spice World, Spice Power! The career of the 5 eccentric Brits developed at a surprising pace. The idea behind the girls band was to create iconic personas with which teenage fans could identify. And so, Victoria took on the role of Posh Spice – a girl whose superpower (like in a Marvel comic) was fashion and style.

Despite the massive brand they created with manager Brian Fuller, Spice Girls experienced a serious split when, in 1998, Geri Halliwell left the group. Despite the fact that the remaining 4 girls continued their artistic activity and released the album Forever in 2000, they never regained their position from the 90s. After the breakup of the group, Victoria decided to try a solo career. The album "Out of my mind" in 2000 took second place on the British hit list. Victoria released two more solo albums, thus ending her musical career in 2007.

Victoria Beckham, the wife of her husband

For years, Victoria Beckham, who tried to break through in the fashion market, had to struggle not only with the Posh Spice label. After her marriage to Manchester United footballer David Beckham, she was tagged as a WAG – a beautiful celebrity known for being the wife of a famous sportsman. The tabloids relentlessly tried to lead to the breakup of the Beckham's marriage, constantly sniffing around and stalking David, who was allegedly prone to infidelity. Despite the bad omens, their marriage has already lasted for 17 years and is considered one of the most enduring relationships in Hollywood, which brings up 4 children.

Victoria – a fashion icon

Posh Spice perfectly fulfilled the role assigned to her by the band's manager of being a fashion icon. Although the beginning of her career was marked by a series of kitschy, fashion mishaps, Victoria and her husband went through a real re-education in terms of taste and style. For over 10 years she has been setting trends, which inspired the biggest fashion world in creating subsequent collections. No wonder, that in 2000 the star was invited by Maria Grachvogel to represent her collection during London Fashion Week. Victoria appeared on the runway again only in 2006 at Roberto Cavalli's show in Milan.

Before she decided to build her clothing brand under her own name, she collaborated with many fashion houses, lending her image for the promotion of collections. So, in 2003, she became the British ambassador of the Dolce & Gabbana brand and the Rocawear sweaters line, as well as collaborated with denim clothing manufacturer Rock and Republic, which transformed into the creation of her own line of jeans in 2006. A year later, Victoria decided to launch her own line of oversized sunglasses, which have long been a signature of her image.

Posh Style – a complete redefinition

"I'm not upset when people bring up my past, it was what it was... but people don't mention Spice Girls as often as they used to" – says Beckham in an interview for LOVE Magazine - "People recognize me as a significant fashion designer, and a brand that is even very significant – and that's great". She presented her first collection consisting exclusively of dresses in 2009. A year later she focused on developing her line of handbags. The rapidly developing brand quickly became a favorite of Hollywood celebrities such as: Michelle Williams, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Blake Lively.

Beckham’s hard work to free herself from the burden and blessing at the same time, which was the definition of Posh Spice for her, paid off. In 2011, Victoria Beckham received the title of Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Award ceremony, thus beating Stella McCartney, Tom Ford, and Burberry!

Today, Victoria Beckham's style is associated with classic simplicity and minimalism, as well as artistic use of colors. Posh Spice is a perfectionist, which is why her products are made of top-class materials. "I want my client to feel special every time she puts on a dress, picks up a bag, or puts on a pair of glasses. It's important to me that she feels wonderful and powerful" – the designer tells British Vogue.

The life of Victoria Beckham, a fulfilled pop star, the wife of a talented footballer, a fulfilled and active mother, and a significant fashion designer, resembles the story of princesses from Disney fairy tales. So, who wouldn't envy Victoria Beckham?
