Men's shorts are a fashion hot button. Some say they should not be found in a stylish man's wardrobe, others suggest that they should only be worn on the beach. However, for us, shorts are a natural choice for a summer outfit for any man, regardless of his age or build. Check out our 3 ways to style shorts and find the one that defines your style the most.

Shorts + polo shirt

This is probably the most classic combination. But let's start with what good shorts should be like. First of all, summer shorts should be made of lightweight materials - such as linen or canvas, from which chinos are made. Also, remember that the shorts you wear should not be too long or too short - they should end just above the knee. This way, you won't shorten your silhouette.

Pairing a polo shirt with shorts is a good solution for a relaxed, yet still chic outfit on a weekend or a so-called casual Friday on a really hot day. With this outfit, you can also choose espadrilles or moccasins, which you should wear barefoot or with socks hiding under the line of the shoes.

Shorts + shirt with rolled up sleeves

You can safely pair a shirt with rolled up sleeves with shorts that end above the knee. With short pants made of denim or jersey knit fabric, wear a loose plaid shirt and leave it untucked. If you prefer the preppy style, wear a button-up shirt made of linen or cotton with chino-style shorts, tuck in the shirt, and finish the outfit with a leather belt in beige or brown.

Shorts + blazer

This may not be a very orthodox combination, but it works for every man who likes to play with style and fashion. Remember not to go for a blazer without padding in the shoulders in such a set. It should be a casual one, buttoned with one or two buttons. Just like with pants, it's better to choose a blazer made of linen, jersey or cotton. When it comes to shorts - go for the chinos cut. Also, a good solution would be to choose pants with cuffs.
