What will surprise us in the upcoming fashion season? Autumn/Winter 2020 is characterized by strong colours on the one hand, and very subdued shades on the other. There are trends that are coming back from the past, as well as those that may turn out to be quite a surprise. What should we have in our wardrobes in the coming months?

1. All Shades of Brown

It is undeniable that the element that strongly dominated this year's autumn-winter trends is color. What will be fashionable colors? Autumn 2020 is a great triumph of brown in every form. Light browns that fall into delicate nude shades, medium saturated browns, and darker ones resembling chocolate will be fashionable. A brown leather coat is the most stylish cover for this year's autumn, and the total look in nude shades is back after a few seasons in all its glory and it seems that nothing is stopping it. Brown has always been the color of autumn, but this season it takes on a key meaning.

2. Strong Accent

Fashionable colors for autumn 2020 also include strong, contrasting accents. Feminine red, cobalt blue, taxi yellow, or energetic orange are the shades that are worth reaching for in the form of accessories, but also entire outfits. A red dress is no longer just an attribute of femininity, but is a fashion manifesto and effectively displaces deadly autumnal burgundy. What other colors does fashion offer us? Winter 2021 is also a nod to timeless black, which will reign over all other colors. The cold will also blow from the winter shade of blue, which will beautifully combine with brown wardrobe elements.

3. Fringes

How to create standout outfits? Autumn 2020, like the whole 2020, is a time when fringes enter every corner of our wardrobe. So far they have mainly reigned in handbags and scarves, but by the end of the year we will wear them on coats, ponchos, skirts, and leather jackets. Fringes in a leather or suede version are a hit of the autumn season.

4. Heavy Shoes

Autumn/winter 2020 fashion smoothly allows us to utilize what we bought last year. Heavy shoes popularized by the brand Bottega Veneta in winter 2019 are still on top and will perfectly fit every edition. We pair them with mini skirts and loose wide-leg pants, which will be one of the most fashionable cuts of the second half of the year.

5. Lingerie in the Forefront

This is a trend that is not a big surprise, because it has been returning and disappearing in collections presented on the catwalk for several seasons. This year all lingerie grabs are allowed. We wear sensual lace lingerie as well as sports bras on the outside. The new lingerie trend looks great in evening outfits and of course it is most striking in black.

6. XXL Shoulders

The second half of the year is a time for oversized outfits. Autumn 2020 is not only about oversized coats and too-big blazers, but also about a strongly outlined shoulder line. We emphasize it with large pads and, of course, through balloon-type sleeves, which were very popular in summer dresses. Wide shoulders are a legacy of the 80s, which is still evident in current trends. Power dressing is a sign of our times, so it's worth not getting rid of vintage gems from the past years.

7. Check - A Return to Classics

This year, classic fashion will enjoy great success. Winter 2021 is not only a triumph of black, but also a runway for timeless check. Not only in the Burberry edition. This autumn's check primarily takes on a brown-beige shade, but is also well received in contrasting combinations. We wear it of course on coats, on blazers, skirts, and pants. After all, an autumn wardrobe without a check is never complete.
