Dior in the Spotlight

The latest men's ready-to-wear collection show by Kim Jones was on everyone's lips among fashion observers and turned out to be the most talked-about event of the season. It sparked several debates about the direction the brand is heading. The new artistic director of DIOR – formerly a proponent of streetwise style – did not forget the legacy of the brand's founder in the presented collection. Classic elements were mixed with sporty styles.

The first look immediately captured the entire character of the collection: elegant ease. The model wore a double-breasted suit, and instead of a shirt, a black transparent turtleneck underneath. The trousers in the collection were generally loose-fitting, but all were tucked into boots reminiscent of military style," says Anna Wasowska, representing DH Vitkac at Paris Fashion Week.

Haute Couture for the Modern Crowd

The collection delved into the meaning of the interplay between art and fashion, the masculine and feminine realms, past and present. Animal draperies and architectural tailoring appeared in a soft palette of luxurious fabrics. The animal graphics were inspired by the panther motif, introduced by Dior in his first collection in 1947.

Models Like Statues

The DIOR show took place in a gigantic black box in Champ de Mars park, behind the Eiffel Tower. Models stood like statues in armor, moving statically along a 76-meter conveyor belt.
